πŸ—“οΈ Week 10 - - Presentations

How It Works

  • Each group has 8 minutes to present + 1–2 minutes for one question
  • One question per group, asked by the audience or instructor
  • All students must complete a peer feedback form for every presentation
  • Feedback forms will be available on Canvas; submit by end of day
Important

Be in your seat and ready at 1:30 sharp. If you are presenting, have your slides open before class starts. Upload your PDF to Canvas before 1:30.

Peer Feedback

During presentations you are expected to actively listen and take notes. After each presentation, fill out the feedback form. You need to complete a form for every group except your own.

Feedback should be:

  • Specific β€” mention a particular chart or design decision
  • Balanced β€” one strength and one suggestion
  • Constructive β€” focus on the work, not the person

Completing all peer feedback forms is part of your participation grade.

Presentation Tips

  • One slide per visualization β€” let the chart do the talking
  • Tell a story β€” connect your visualizations into a narrative arc
  • Practice your timing β€” 8 minutes goes faster than you think
  • Prepare for the question β€” know your design choices and why you made them
  • Upload your PDF before class β€” tech issues are not an excuse for delays

See the Final Project Guidelines for the full presentation rubric.
