ποΈ Week 09 - Inference for Categorical Data
Week 9 introduces inference for categorical data, covering confidence intervals and hypothesis tests for proportions on Tuesday and chi-square tests for contingency tables on Thursday β completing all new course material.
Week 10 is devoted entirely to review: Tuesdayβs lecture walks through a comprehensive summary of the full quarter, including a consolidated formula sheet and practice problems using real R output, and Thursday is reserved for open Q&A and any remaining questions before the exam. The final exam takes place during Week 11.
Because no distribution tables or statistical software will be available on the exam, the emphasis throughout Weeks 9 and 10 is on interpreting R output correctly, selecting the right standard error for each setting, checking conditions, and communicating conclusions clearly in biological and health contexts.
